The Yakima Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday night. YPD reports that its officers responded to the area of North 6th Street and East F Street around 7:25 p.m. on August 26, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found a 37-year-old Yakima man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. First responders provided life-saving measures, but the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The victim’s identity is not being released at this time. YPD’s Criminal Investigative Division responded to investigate. YPD says it is believed the fatal shooting is gang-related.
