Plaquemines Sheriff’s Office arrests 20-year-old in Port Sulphur homicide

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest in connection to a homicide in Port Sulphur earlier Monday. PPSO is investigating a homicide that occurred in the area of Caroline Drive in Port Sulphur.

Deputies responded to the scene for a report of a shooting and found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS reached the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Authorities have identified the victim as 40-year-old Billy Saunier.

In an update, PPSO confirmed it had arrested 20-year-old Victor Battle in connection to the murder. Battle was booked into the Plaquemines Parish Detention Center on a charge of Second Degree Murder.
