Buffalo man arrested for having more than 540 videos of child pornography

A Buffalo man has been arrested and charged after child pornography was allegedly found on his computer. US Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that 37-year-old Sean Braven was arrested and charged with Receipt, Distribution, and Possession of Child Pornography.

If Braven is convicted, he will face a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum sentence of 20 years. On July 26 and August 17, 2018, an undercover officer identified an IP address that allegedly made child pornography available on a peer-to-peer file sharing network.

The undercover agent downloaded eight files constituting child pornography. US Attorney Aaron J. Mango reports that the investigation determined the IP address in question belonged to Braven.

In October 2018, a search warrant was carried out at Braven’s residence. Multiple items were seized including a computer. A forensic review allegedly uncovered more than 420 images and 540 videos containing child pornography.

Authorities say some featured violence against children.
