The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for a sexual assault suspect. Around 2:56 a.m. on August 21, 2024, Thermal Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 78000 block of Avenue 42 in Bermuda Dunes for a report of a suspicious person.

RCSO says the reporting individual said an unknown male followed her to her apartment. The man was wearing a mask. When the woman screamed, the man fled in an unknown direction through the apartment complex.

RCSO reports that the man is described as being a black adult male possibly in his 20s with a medium build. Deputies searched the area but did not find the suspect. Around 10:27 a.m., deputies received a report of a sexual assault near Adams Street and Dune Lake Street.

The victim told deputies she was in the area between 2:30 and 3 a.m. when she was attacked by an unknown man and sexually assaulted. The victim said that the suspect was a black male adult between 20 and 30 years old.

The suspect was reportedly wearing a black ski mask to cover his face. Following the assault, the suspect fled in an unknown direction. No other details are available. Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to call Investigator Perez at 760-863-8447 or RCSO at 951-776-1099.
