29-year-old Luis Ramos is in custody after being arrested by the Lexington Police Department. LPD reports that its officers responded to the 900 block of Delaware Avenue for a shooting victim around 5:06 p.m. on August 20, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 29-year-old Ramos was arrested at the scene.

Ramos is charged with Murder and Using Restricted Ammunition During Commission of a Crime. He was also arrested on unrelated warrants. At this time, Ramos is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office at a later time.
