The Denver Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a domestic violence-related homicide. DPD reports that Brian Mervin was arrested in the death of a woman in the 4000 block of North Adams Street on August 19, 2024.

Around 6:08 p.m. on August 19, Mervin flagged someone down to call 911 saying he had found his wife on the ground struggling to breathe. DPD officers and paramedics responded to the scene where they found an injured adult female.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where she passed away. First responders noticed signs of several injuries on the victim. During the investigation, investigators say they learned that the injuries were consistent with an assault.

Mervin was arrested and is being held on one count of First-Degree Murder.
