The Anchorage Police Department is investigating after a person was found deceased around 8:50 p.m. on August 15, 2024. APD says the discovery was made at a greenbelt near Lake Otis Parkway and Waldron Drive.

Officers found a deceased adult lying outside. APD says officers made observations that prompted a closer look into the circumstances surrounding the death. APD’s Crime Scene Team responded to process the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death at a later time.
