The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a local used car dealership owner. Sheriff Carter Weaver reports that the owner has been arrested on multiple charges following a two-month joint investigation by GCSO’s SLED, the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles, and the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office Investigations Division.
Sheriff Weaver announced that Donna Kester Ivey of Auto Cars of Murrells Inlet had been charged. Ivey is charged with seven counts of Failure to Remit Vehicle Titles and two felony counts of Writing Fraudulent Checks with a Value over $5,000.
Anyone who feels they’ve been defrauded by the dealership is asked to call authorities at 843-546-5102.
