Update – The Owensboro Police Department announced on social media that it had arrested 22-year-old Laterrian Burroughs in connection to a shooting in the 2800 block of Daviess Street.

Burroughs was booked into the Daviess County Detention Center for one count of Assault 1^st Degree and two counts of Wanton Endangerment.

Original – The Owensboro Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that injured one person on Thursday. OPD reports that its patrol officers responded to a firearm discharge complaint in the 2800 block of Daviess Street.

OPD has confirmed that one person suffered what is believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim is receiving medical treatment at OHRH. OPD believes the shooting is unrelated to the shooting on West 5th Street.

Criminal Investigations Division detectives are responding to the scene to investigate. No other details are available at this time.
