The Visalia Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a fatal hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian. VPD reports that the incident happened at Caldwell Avenue and Ben Maddox Way around 10:31 p.m. on August 12, 2024.

VPD says the suspect vehicle fled the scene but was found abandoned nearby. VPD’s Traffic Unit assumed control of the investigation. Authorities arrested 31-year-old Jorge Torres on Wednesday afternoon.
