The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested a man who fired shots at deputies. LCSO reports that it received a call from a resident at 11307 Big Bear Path in Lakeview, Ohio saying their home had been struck by gunfire around 10:33 a.m. on August 14, 2024.

Deputies responded to the scene and confirmed that the house had been struck. Deputies believed the shot came from the residence next door at 11331 Big Bear Path. Deputies tried to speak to the resident, but they were unable to get anyone to answer the door.

Authorities asked nearby neighbors to leave their residences. Special Response Teams from area agencies responded to the scene and tried numerous times to get the resident to come outside.

LCSO says the subject refused to come outside and fired multiple rounds at law enforcement from inside. Officers returned fire and injured the suspect who eventually exited the home. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.

LCSO is not releasing the suspect’s name at this time.
