Wheeling Police investigating armed robbery at Lily’s that left employee injured

Update – According to the Wheeling Police Department, 53-year-old Robert Allen Baker has been charged with robbery, malicious assault, grand larceny, and assault during the commission of a felony. The charges stem from Wednesday’s robbery at the Lily’s on River Road. Baker was arrested by the Brooke County Sheriff’s Office on unrelated crimes and is now being held at the Northern Regional Jail.

According to the Wheeling Police Department in West Virginia, police are investigating an armed robbery at Lily’s on River Road in North Wheeling. A news release explains that the armed robbery took place around 11:45 AM on November 29, 2023 at the Lily’s on River Road in North Wheeling. A suspect armed with a knife robbed a clerk and fled the scene.

Authorities say an employee was injured during the altercation. They were transported to Wheeling Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities say the suspect was described as an older white male with blonde hair. At the time, he was wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans.
