The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of two locals in connection to an animal cruelty investigation. LCSO says 45-year-old Randy Avon Thompson and 36-year-old Mary Lou Thompson were arrested at their place of employment, Wayne Auto Salvage at 1911 Highway 117 South in Goldsboro, earlier today.
The couple was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office following a Lenoir County Animal Control investigation that started on Monday. The investigation allegedly revealed two deceased dogs on the couple’s Southwood Road property.
Both are charged with four felony counts of Animal Cruelty and four misdemeanor counts of Improper Disposal of a Domestic Animal. Randy is being held with no bond. Mary Lou has a $10,000 unsecured bond.
