The Memphis Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting on Monday evening. MPD says an officer observed shots being fired at the EZ Shop at 2380 Frayser Boulevard around 4:41 p.m. on August 12, 2024.
Several suspects fired shots in a white Ford sedan. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled leading to a pursuit. The vehicle came to a stop in the 4000 block of Mountain Terrance and two suspects fled from the vehicle.
One of the suspects was armed. The officer chased the suspects on foot while the car fled with two additional suspects. At some point, an officer fired his service weapon during the foot pursuit.
An adult suspect was hit and suffered non-critical injuries. The second suspect has not been found. MPD says he is a black male in a black hoodie and black pants. Two officers were injured while searching for suspects.
One was taken to an area hospital with non-critical injuries. A second officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The injuries were not caused by gunfire. MPD confirms a weapon was recovered.
At the original scene, an adult male victim was found at the gas station. He was injured but refused medical treatment. MPD says his injuries occurred when the suspects in the Ford exchanged gunfire with another individual.
The white Ford has not been located. It had a partial Tennessee tag of BRT. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
