One person is dead after a tree fell in the roadway in Ellicott City, Maryland. The Howard County Police Department is investigating the situation. HCPD says a tree fell on the victim’s vehicle on Sunday evening.
Around 5:35 p.m. on August 11, 2024, a vehicle was traveling westbound on Baltimore National Pike near the Baltimore County line. A tree fell on the vehicle. An adult female was the only occupant of the vehicle.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second vehicle hit the tree. The driver of the second vehicle, an adult female, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
