On Sunday, a man was fatally shot on Caronia Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the homicide. CMPD reports that the incident happened in the 2200 block of Caronia Street just after 1 p.m. on August 11, 2024.

Westover Division officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call. At the scene, officers found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A second victim arrived at an area hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. At this time, detectives are working to determine the relationship between the victims.
