The Portland Police Bureau has announced an arrest in connection to a machete attack. The Portland Police Bureau reports that officers from East Precinct responded to the 1200 block of Northeast 92nd Avenue for a reported assault around 11:36 a.m. on August 10, 2024.
At the scene, officers found an adult male victim suffering from a serious cut to the arm at an off-road bicycle trail in Gateway Green Park. The victim and witnesses provided authorities with a description of the suspect.
A short time later, officers found and apprehended the suspect. PPB says officers also found a machete and seized it as evidence. The victim sought medical treatment by private vehicle. Major Crimes Unit detectives responded to investigate.
37-year-old Victor A. Peterson was booked on charges of Assault in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
