The Roanoke Police Department is investigating a possible shooting at the Valley View Mall just after 7 p.m. on Saturday. RPD reports that officers responded to the Valley View Mall at 4800 Valley View Boulevard Northwest for reports of possible gunfire at 7:10 p.m.

Multiple people were witnessed running from the mall leading to concern and calls to 911 that shots had been fired. RPD says the investigation concluded that the noise was caused by juveniles who were tearing down and banging on metal signs inside the mall.

RPD does not believe any actual shots were fired. Officers are still at the scene. No other details are available at this time.
