A 26-year-old man is behind bars in connection to the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Vanity Williams in Houston, Texas. HPD reports that 26-year-old Tristian Sanders was arrested and charged with murder.

Sanders was arrested in Luling, Louisiana and booked into the St. Charles Parish Jail. He is accused of fatally shooting Vanity Williams on August 2, 2024. Around 11:10 p.m. on August 2, HPD officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at 1711 Caroline Street.

At the scene, an unresponsive woman was found with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased. HPD says further investigation and evidence helped identify Sanders as the suspect in the shooting.

Investigators learned he had fled to New Orleans and stayed at multiple locations.
