The Gaston County Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect wanted on an array of felony charges, including Assault by Strangulation and False Imprisonment. GCSP reports that its Fugitive Apprehension and Suspect Tracking Team teamed with the Mt. Holly Police Department to arrest Michael Parker Jr. of Mt. Holly.

GCPD says Parker was wanted for Assault by Strangulation, False Imprisonment, Interfering with Emergency Communications, and Fleeing to Elude Arrest. When authorities attempted to contact the suspect, he allegedly fled into a residence and refused to come out.

Officers were able to negotiate the suspect’s peaceful surrender. No other details are available at this time.
