Charleston Police investigating shooting at Citadel Mall

Update – Charleston Police confirm a suspect has been arrested in connection to the shooting at the Citadel Mall. CPD says the incident stemmed from an ongoing argument. There is no threat to the public.

The Citadel Mall will reopen tomorrow. 19-year-old Nathan Mungin was arrested and charged with one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime and three counts of Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature.

Officers responded to a large fight in the mall near the food court. During the altercation, one gunshot was fired from a handgun. A teenager suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Original – One person has been injured in a shooting at the Citadel Mall in West Ashley. The Charleston Police Department is currently investigating. Earlier today, CPD reported on social media that its officers responded to a shooting at the Citadel Mall in West Ashley.

Officers are at the scene and actively investigating. In a later update, CPD confirmed that one person had been shot. The victim suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries. CPD’s PIO is expected to be on the scene in 30 minutes.
