Tunica County Sheriff’s Office investigating attempted kidnapping in Dundee

The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred on Wednesday. TCSO reports that it received a 911 call about an attempted kidnapping from a residence in the Dundee area around 6:18 p.m. on August 7, 2024.

Deputies responded to the area. At the scene, deputies contacted an individual who said their minor was approached by a white, older model Chevrolet or Ford passenger van occupied by two individuals. The men are designed as a white male driver and a black male passenger.

The occupants were reportedly wearing masks. The van may have tinted windows and black stripes down the side. Deputies were informed that the occupants of the van attempted to lure the minor child into the vehicle by saying they had candy and puppies inside.

The child alerted adults at the location. The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Old Highway 61 North around 4:30 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call TCSO at 662-363-1411. Anyone who comes in contact with the van should call 911.
