Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office identify suspect in Safe Rack fatal shooting

Update – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office confirms suspect, 20-year-old Ethan O’Neil Brown, is in custody. Sheriff Carter Weaver announced that Brown turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday evening. Brown is charged in the fatal shooting of a coworker at the Safe Rack plant near Andrews.

He is charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.

Original – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect in connection to a fatal shooting at the Safe Rack manufacturing facility. GCSO reports that it had obtained arrest warrants for Ethan O’Neil Brown of Nesmith in the fatal shooting that occurred on August 5, 2024.

Deputies are searching for Brown who is wanted on charges of Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. GCSO describes the suspect as a 20-year-old black male around 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds.

GCSO says Brown was last seen driving a black BMW sedan away from the manufacturing plant after allegedly fatally shooting a coworker. Investigators believe the shooting followed an ongoing dispute between Brown and the victim.
