The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Rahjon Nicky Green. At this time, Green is charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Armed Robbery, First Degree Kidnapping, Second Degree Kidnapping, Communicating Threats, Shooting into Occupied Dwelling / Vehicle, and two counts of Assault on a Female.

Around 7 a.m. on August 5, 2024, BCSO deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance resulting in a subject being shot and another victim being kidnapped. Patrol and Investigative Divisions and members from other agencies responded to the scene.

Units located the kidnapped victim and the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to an area hospital. Both victims are expected to make a full recovery.

The suspect, Rahjon Green Jr., had allegedly fled into a wooded area off Connarista Road. BCSO Special Ops Unit used a drone and the Hertford County Sheriff’s Office used a K9 to help apprehend the suspect.

Green was taken into custody without incident.
