The Rowlett Police Department said it had detained a 47-year-old black male and a 47-year-old black female in connection to a shooting on Friday night. RPD reports that officers responded to a residence in the 6100 block of San Marino Drive for a reported shooting around 7:08 p.m. on August 2, 2024.
At the scene, officers found a Hispanic male victim bleeding from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim told officers he had been shot by a residence in the nearby area. The victim was ultimately transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities made announcements for the occupants to exit the residence mentioned by the victim. A 47-year-old black male and a 47-year-old black female exited the residence and were detained without incident.
RPD says the male, a Rowlett resident, was arrested on outstanding warrants. No other details are available at this time.
