The Sarasota Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred near the 900 block of John Ringling Causeway just after 2:30 p.m.. SPD reports that an adult victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

In a later update, SPD said all involved parties were at the scene and were cooperating with the investigation. There is no danger to the public.
