Fort Collins Police have announced the arrest of a 60-year-old man from Aurora, Colorado for sexual exploitation of a child. The Fort Collins Police Services reports that its Cyber Crimes Unit investigated for a month and a half before the arrest of Roger Leon Estergaard.
Detectives say they identified Estergaard as a potential threat following alleged inappropriate engagement with an underaged online persona. Following multiple conversations online, the suspect allegedly traveled to Fort Collins with the intention of meeting a juvenile female to engage in sex acts.
Once the suspect arrived at the predetermined location, he was arrested by SWAT and the Criminal Impact Unit. Estergaard was booked on charges of Internet Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Internet Luring of a Child, and Attempted Sexual Assault of a Child.
