A young girl riding her bike was struck by a vehicle on Sunday evening. The Pittsburgh Police Department is investigating. The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department reports that authorities responded to Rosedale Street near Tacoma Street for reports of a child who was struck by a vehicle just after 5:30 p.m. on August 18, 2024.
At the scene, first responders found a 6-year-old victim in the roadway suffering from traumatic injuries. The girl was transported to Children’s Hospital in critical condition. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later.
Authorities say the adult female driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. The Collision Investigation Unit responded to investigate.
