A 46-year-old Rancho Cordova man is behind bars after being linked to a homicide in Vallejo, California. The Vallejo Police Department reports that its Patrol Division responded to an injury collision with reports of gunshots heard near the intersection of Tennessee Street and Vervais Avenue around 12:36 p.m. on July 16, 2024.

At the scene, responding VPD officers witnessed a three-vehicle collision involving a Kia Soul, a Mercedes-Benz ML350, and an Isuzu Trooper. Officers also found an adult female lying in the street with injuries consistent with a collision.

Medical aid was rendered and the woman was transported to an area hospital. VPD’s Homicide Detectives investigated and identified the suspect as 46-year-old Jacoby Etter of Rancho Cordova.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Etter on August 7. On August 8, 2024, Etter was taken into custody in the 4300 block of Malana Way in Rancho Cordova with help from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Detail.

Etter was booked into the Solano County Jail for murder.
