Baltimore Police Department worked a sexual assault on North Franklintown Road at about 6:09 p.m. on November 7, 2023. Responding officers spoke with an elderly female who alleged a man approached her while walking along the Gwynns Falls Trail. The suspect was armed and violently physically assaulted the victim when she tried to flee.

According to the report, the victim suffered “severe injuries” which were treated at an area hospital.

Detectives were able to identify the suspect who was later identified as Charles Avon Taylor, 46, of Baltimore. A warrant was obtained for Taylor’s arrest. Taylor was apprehended in Towson. Taylor is facing multiple counts of assault, a sex offense, reckless endangerment, and kidnapping charges.
