45-year-old man in custody after woman is killed on Metro Train in North Hollywood

A man is behind bars after being accused of killing a woman on a Metro Train in North Hollywood, California. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers received a call about an Assault with a Deadly Weapon Stabbing at the University City Station at Lankershim Boulevard and Campo De Cahuenga Way around 5 a.m. on April 22, 2024.

LAPD says the suspect attacked the victim while she was on the train. The victim exited onto the platform when the train stopped at the Universal City Station. The suspect also exited the train and fled on food. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Around 5:30 a.m., North Hollywood officers saw a person matching the suspect’s description and detained them.

The person was later identified as 45-year-old Elliot Tramel Nowden. Nowden was booked for Murder and is currently being held on a $2,000,000 bail.
