The Visalia Police Department reports that a four-year-old girl has died following a tragic incident. Around 8 p.m. on September 4, 2024, VPD officers responded to a residence in the 2300 block of West Monte Vista following a report that a child had been attacked by the family’s pit bull.

Authorities say the four-year-old girl had just finished swimming and was inside when the attack occurred. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

VPD says the investigation by Violent Crimes Detectives revealed no signs of neglect or criminal wrongdoing.
