The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office says a 34-year-old man has been booked on one count of 2nd Degree Rape in connection to the rape of a juvenile. TPSO reports that 34-year-old Marcus Elzie was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Tuesday.

TPSO says it was notified by the Department of Child and Family Services about a possible sexual assault of a juvenile last week. Detectives say Elzie had taken the victim to an abandoned location in Kentwood where he committed the crime.

On October 24, Elzie was taken into custody in Pike County, Mississippi. On Tuesday, he was transported to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
