The Virgin Islands Police Department said in a social media post that a man was deceased following a shooting in Aureo Diaz Heights. Around 5:01 p.m. on February 14, 2024, dispatch received a call reporting an unresponsive man within the Aureo Diaz Heights community of St. Croix.

Virgin Islands Police responded to the scene where they found an unresponsive adult male on the ground. The victim had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He has since been identified as 25-year-old Daniel Sanes. No other information is available at this time.
