20-time felon arrested for murder following fatal overdose in November

A 20-time felon has been arrested for murder following a fatal overdose in November. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that 27-year-old Querran Talley was found deceased in a mobile home park in Thonotosassas on November 5, 2023. Detectives say they found crack cocaine in the victim’s sock.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Opioid Overdose Investigation Unit alleges that 47-year-old Anthony Mansfield supplied the drugs that led to Talley’s fatal overdose. On November 16, 2023, Mansfield was arrested for the following.

  • Trafficking In Fentanyl (28 Grams or More)
  • Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell or Deliver
  • Delivery of a Controlled Substance
  • VOP Cocaine – Sale, Manufacturing, Delivering
  • VOP Cocaine – Possession

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Talley died from the combined effects of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and oxycodone. After the facts were presented to a Grand Jury on April 18, 2024, Mansfield’s charges were upgraded to include Murder in the First Degree Resulting from the Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
