19-year-old man charged in Santa Ana homicide on June 3

A 19-year-old is behind bars following a fatal shooting in Santa Ana. The Santa Ana Police Department reports that detectives have arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection to the fatal shooting that occurred on June 3, 2024.

Around 6:42 p.m. on June 3, Communications received a report of a shooting in the area of 1100 South Poplar Street. Officers responded to the scene and found a 19-year-old male victim lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was later identified as 19-year-old Angel Junior Vuelvas. In an update, SAPD Homicide Detectives say they identified one of the suspects as 19-year-old Gabriel Gutierrez.

On June 7, Gutierrez was taken into custody and booked on one count of Murder. He was arranged on June 11, 2024.
