The King County Prosecutor has announced charges against 19-year-old K’Shawn Jimerson in the fatal stabbing of a 65-year-old handyman. Jimerson is charged with Murder in the Second Degree.
The charging documents allege that Jimerson is seen on on surveillance camera violently assaulting the victim with a wood stick before fatally stabbing him. Following the incident, Jimerson called 911 to say he had just stabbed someone.
Authorities say Jimerson remained at the scene and was arrested without incident. During Jimerson’s first appearance, the prosecutor requested a $2 million bail. The district court judge imposed a $50,000 bail. Jimerson paid $5,000 and was released the following day.
Chief Schuldt contacted the judge to gain more information about the low bail. The King County Prosecutor has also filed to increase the bail. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning.
