16-year-old shot fleeing would-be carjacker in Baltimore

The Baltimore Police Department is currently investigating an attempted carjacking in which a 16-year-old girl was shot. BPD reports that its officers responded to the 800 block of West Lombard Street for a shooting and armed carjacking around 7:20 p.m. on August 3, 2024.

At the scene, officers were informed that a 16-year-old female victim had received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound following an attempted carjacking. The victim told police that she had parked with two other individuals in the 5100 block of Levindale Road.

She was approached by a suspect wearing a black ski mask and carrying a black handgun. The suspect demanded the occupants to get out of the vehicle. The victim reversed the car and drove away as the suspect fired into the vehicle.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. No one is in custody at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call North District Detectives at 410-396-2455 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
