Two boys have been charged in a violent attack at a Melton shopping complex that left a 15-year-old hospitalized with head injuries. Victoria Police say Melton Crime Investigation Unit Detectives have arrested two teens for allegedly being involved in a violent attack at a shopping complex in Melton yesterday.

Police responded to the complex on Barries Road around 5 p.m. after receiving reports of a group of males fighting while armed with edged weapons. Police located a 15-year-old boy from Weir Views suffering from head injuries. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he remains.

Investigators arrested a 15-year-old boy from Melton South and a 16-year-old from Harkness. Authorities say the 16-year-old has been charged with affray, possess prohibited weapon, and being armed with criminal intent.
