The Delaware State Police announced the arrest of a 14-year-old student at Lake Forest High School in Felton, Delaware on Tuesday. The 14-year-old has been charged with felony assault. Around 1:05 p.m. on December 19, 2023, the Delaware State Police Resource Officer assigned to the school at 5407 Killens Pond Road and school administrators responded to a classroom for a report of an assault.

Authorities say the investigation revealed that a 14-year-old student went into a classroom and assaulted another 14-year-old student. The suspect allegedly repeatedly punched and stomped the victim’s head.

Teachers managed to remove the suspect from the classroom before the student was detained by the school resource officer. The victim was transported to a local hospital by her parent. She was treated for serious injuries to her head.

On December 23, 2023, the 14-year-old suspect turned herself in for a charge of Felony Assault Second Degree.
