A 12-year-old has been arrested in connection to a shooting in Albany, New York. The Albany Police Department reported that a 12-year-old was arrested in connection to Monday’s shooting on South Pearl Street.
Around 4:05 p.m. on May 13, 2024, officers responded to the 300 block of South Pearl Street for reports of a shooting. At the scene, officers found a 48-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the forearm. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
APD identified the 12-year-old as the suspect and took him into custody in Albany around 9:55 p.m. on May 21, 2024. The 12-year-old boy is charged with one count of Attempted Murder 2nd and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd.
The boy’s name will not be released due to his age at this time.
