10-Month-Long Probe Leads To Dismissal & Theft Charge Against Kensett Police Chief

Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation into thefts at the Kensett Police Department. The nearly 10-month-long investigation revealed Kensett Police Chief John Pollard stole funds from the city.

Pollard stole city funds by falsifying drug confiscation reports and personal time sheets. Investigators also determined that Pollard made personal purchases with the City of Kensett credit cards.

Kensett officials terminated Pollard over the course of the investigation.

Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant of Pollard’s home in West Point. Missing items from the Kensett Police Department evidence room were recovered from the residence.

The theft was around $73,000. Pollard has been charged with abuse of office and theft of property, both Class B felonies.

On December 5, 2023, Pollard was remanded to the White County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
