The Yakima Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a 38-year-old man on Sunday evening. According to YPD, the victim was transported to Yakima Multicare Hospital by private vehicle around 4:50 p.m.

The victim was reportedly suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Police confirmed the man died from his injuries at the hospital.

Police say officers began gathering information on who brought the victim to the hospital and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

At this time, it is believed that the victim was shot in the area of North 6th Street and East Yakima Avenue, according to YPD. No other details are available.
