The Yakima Police Department reports that it is investigating a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of a Safeway store. YPD reports that its officers responded to the store at 2204 West Nob Hill Boulevard around 6:40 p.m. on November 8, 2024.

Police say they found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. A 19-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene and a 20-year-old male passed away at Memorial Multi-Care Hospital, according to YPD.

Yakima Police say an officer located a suspect vehicle near 3rd Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard approximately five minutes later. The vehicle reportedly tried to elude police before stopping near 36th Avenue and Yakima Avenue.

Police say two occupants from the suspect vehicle also suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to an area hospital. Investigators say they developed probable cause to arrest the two suspects who attempted to elude officers.

YPD reports that they’re facing multiple charges, including homicide. The identities of those involved are not being released at this time.
