The Windsor Police Department has announced the arrest of a serial burglar. According to WPD, deputies responded to an audible alarm at Mattie Washburn Elementary School at 75 Pleasant Avenue.
Deputies allegedly heard what sounded like metal being pried at the rear of the school officer and found 32-year-old Patrick Poorman trying to pry open a locked door with a pry bar.
WPD says Poorman attempted to flee but was apprehended following a short foot pursuit. Authorities allege that Poorman was also the suspect in two burglaries that occurred in Larkfield.
The burglaries reportedly took place over the last three days. Poorman was on pre-trial release from Sonoma County for a prior burglary. Poorman was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for two of the burglaries. The third is still being investigated.
He is facing charges of Burglary, Attempted Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Obstruction a Public Officer, Receiving Stolen Property, Making Fictitious Checks, Mail Theft, and Violation of Pre-Trial Released.
Deputies obtained a bail enhancement. Poorman is currently being held on a bond of $360,000.
