Update 4 – West Virginia authorities confirm Joshua Russell Morrow is now in custody. The victims of the fire have been identified as 34-year-old Brittany Brown and her mother, 57-year-old Erma Brown.
Police say Morrow was Britney Brown’s fiancé.
Update 3 – West Virginia State Police are still searching for 42-year-old Joshua Morrow who is wanted for two counts of First Degree Murder and one count of First Degree Arson.
WVSP says the charges are connected to a fire that occurred on Spring Valley Drive on December 15, 2024. Morrow was last known to be in Huntington but he also has ties to Lincoln County.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
In August 1997, Morrow pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder for taking part in the fatal shooting of Gerald Keith Dillard.
He was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the shooting. At the time, authorities said the drive-by shooting claimed the life of a man attending a Christmas party. It was alleged that Morrow and four friends were turned away from the party in Dale City.
After returning, shots were fired at the house and 43-year-old Dillard was fatally shot in the head.
Update 2 – West Virginia State Police say emergency crews responded to the scene of a fatal fire along Spring Valley Drive on Sunday night. The 15-month-old girl and her noncustodial parent, Joshua Morrow, were unaccounted for.
West Virginia State Police say the girl has been found safe, but 42-year-old Joshua Morrow has not been located.
Two women died in the fire which occurred in the 2100 block of Spring Valley Drive in Wayne County.
Update – The AMBER Alert has been canceled.
Original – West Virginia authorities are looking for Makynlee Morrow. The 15-month-old white female was allegedly abducted by 42-year-old Joshua Morrow from Huntington, West Virginia.
They may be in a Blue Subaru Legacy with WV license plate 4HF387. Makynlee has blue eyes. Images are not available at this time.
