The West Columbia Police Department is investigating a double shooting that claimed the lives of a 17-year-old and a 29-year-old. WCPD reports that its officers responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Carter Street just after 3:30 a.m. on September 15, 2024.

The two victims have been identified as 17-year-old Kashaan Damon Sims and 29-year-old Alvin Davonte McDaniel Jr. WCPD says Sims succumbed to his injuries at the scene. McDaniel passed away at an area hospital.

A third victim was treated at an area hospital before being released. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact WCPD at 803-794-0721.
