Sopchoppy, Florida – The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office reports that the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fatal shooting in the 300 block of Harms Road in Sopchoppy, Florida.

According to a WCSO statement, deputies responded to a call for service regarding a white female who was armed with a handgun and making suicidal statements.

The Sheriff’s Office said deputies reached the scene before the woman fired a long gun into the air and retreated into the home. LCSO responded to assist.

Authorities say shots were fired and the female suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will review the incident. No other details are available at this time.
