Vancouver Police say they have arrested a suspect following an arson attempt at City Hall last night.
According to police, officers responded to a 911 call shortly after 10 p.m. after a man allegedly used an incendiary device to light a fire outside the entrance to Vancouver City Hall.
VPD confirms the building was closed to the public at the time. A witness intervened and stopped the fire from spreading, according to authorities.
VPD says a suspect was immediately arrested. Authorities do not believe the 36-year-old suspect is a Vancouver resident.
The motive for the arson is not known at this time.
