A man in El Paso, Texas has been arrested for allegedly damaging a police vehicle. On November 1, 2023 at roughly 8:55 PM, members of the El Paso Police Department responded to a call of a marked patrol vehicle that had been vandalized. 20-year-old Jacob Payan, of San Elizario, was observed by witnesses climbing onto the squad car that was parked at the 600 block of East Overland. Payan allegedly jumped onto the front windshield causing it to shatter before fleeing.
A short time later, Payan was located in the 200 block of East Mills and arrested for criminal mischief. Police say an investigation determined Payan had just been released on a personal recognizance bond by Judge Acosta after El Paso Community College officers took him into custody for property theft. Payan was booked into the El Paso County Jail with a charge of criminal mischief.
